Vancouver Opera is excited to announce our 2017-2018 Work Experience season. This year we'll be embracing a "Festival within a season" model.
The Work Experience program at Vancouver Opera allows students in Grades 11 and 12 to get a backstage view of what goes into an opera production. Open to students in Metro Vancouver, this immersive experience provides students the opportunity to meet and work alongside professional artists and administrators throughout the final stages of producing a show for the main stage. Students will work with mentors from all departments within Vancouver Opera to personalize their experience based on their interests and potential career goals. Students will build connections between their secondary school course work and their experience at Vancouver Opera. The program culminates with the students attending the final dress rehearsal in advance of opening night. The 2017/18 productions will be as follows: · Turandot (Sept 18-Oct 12) · The Elixir of Love (Dec 18-Jan 19) · Eugene Onegin (Mar 30-Apr 27) If you are interested contact Dr. Dean or come by Dr. Dean's office.
