Science Alive is a student-run, not-for-profit organization based at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC. We provide opportunities for youth to explore science beyond the textbooks through hands-on, interactive discovery, which stimulates their interest and fosters confidence.
In the months of July and August, we are running summer camps on SFU Burnaby and SFU Surrey Campuses, and are looking for High School Student volunteers and instructors. Our Volunteer positions are open to Grade 9-12 students, and our High School Instructor positions are open to Grade 11-12 students. Volunteers would be assisting the University Instructors in simple class management, preparing materials for activities, and helping campers out in any way they can. High School Instructors would be taking on a bigger leadership role in the classrooms such as teaching the activities, as well as taking on a more active classroom management role. The High School Instructor position is a paid position.
If you would like, you can apply at http://www.sciencealive.ca/volunteer/ by sending in an application, along with a cover letter and resume.
